Superstar producer Timbaland has rather high hopes for his upcoming solo album, Opera Noir, comparing it to a certain seminal early ’90s release from almost-billionaire Dr. Dre.

“I finally made my Chronic,” he recently told Revolt, referencing Dre’s 1992 full-length The Chronic, which spawned massive singles including “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” and helped introduce Snoop Dogg to the world.

“It’s a culture thing. It’s the truth. It’s just about life in general. My life. My personal life, and I found myself as an artist and human being and as a man,” Timbaland explained about the forthcoming album, which does not yet have a release date. “I found who I am.”
