He revamped an 80’s classic, stripped down to his skivvies , romanced Rachel McAdams, and has now snagged the coveted title of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2012. Some say impossible, but it’s all in a year’s work for Channing Tatum.

The 32-year-old actor has sent hearts racing since showing us his moves in 2006’s  Step Up.

According to People Magazine the gorgeous star was completely shocked by the news and couldn’t wait to tell his wife and Step Up co-star,  actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum.

The Magic Mike heartthrob showcases his sexy on this week’s cover of People, which hits stands on Friday. There the sexy star talks about his wife, the possibility of kids, and upcoming film projects.

Some of the close calls for the title include Chris Hemsworth, Blake Shelton, Matt Bomer, and Denzel Washington.
