When it was announced that Lil Wayne would be delaying the release of his much-anticipated mixtape Dedication 4, fans were left to speculate. But the YMCMB boss has now come forth to explain the schedule change.
According to Wayne, he didn’t want to take any of the spotlight away from friend 2 Chainz, who on track to top the charts next week with his major label debut Based on a T.R.U. Story.
“My homeboy 2 Chainz just dropped his album yesterday,” said Wayne on BreadOverBed. Instead, he dropped a freestyle to 2 Chainz’s hit “No Lie.”
“That’s my real, real, real good homeboy right there, and I refuse to put any attention on me when the spotlight, everybody’s eyes, everybody’s attention should be on my n**** 2 Chainz’s album Based On A T.R.U. Story. So therefore, I ain’t giving you b*****s Dedication 4 yet.”

Wayne also said that his passion for skateboarding has taken up recording time for his mixtape.
“So, I’m gonna give it to you in a week or so, but I ain’t even lie,” Wayne explained. “I ain’t finish that motherf***** because I’ve been skating and s***, falling and breaking s***, but I’ll give it to you next week.”
