We’re all going to be jetting off to warm, summer vacations spots to get away from life soon and enjoy a little summer relaxation. Before you get too excited and tear up your hotel room, you may wanna know what not to touch. You may want to bring some Lysol with you for a few things.
According to Yahoo, researchers from the University of Houston took bacteria samples from several items in hotel rooms in three regions of the United States. it was expected that a lot of bacteria would be found on the toilets and, as well as the sheets. It turns out those were not the biggest bacteria catchers in the rooms. While they did have higher levels of contamination, the remote and light switches showed to have the most!
The study was done to help cleaning teams better clean rooms based on where the most bacteria lands. Even worse than the remote and switches were the maids carts and mops. That created an even bigger problem as they realized the bacteria was being carried room to room.
The lowest level of germs were found on the headboards (surprisingly!!), curtain rods and bathroom door handles.
This will give you a new perspective on what you’re touching in your hotel room! I think I will bring my own universal remote from now on and some sanitizer wipes for the switches! I would also like to send this warning out…. Anyone that’s inside the Paris Hilton….. just don’t touch anything!!
