Afrojack is a world-renowned, GRAMMY winning Dutch DJ and super producer who’s worked with some big names like Pitbull, David Guetta, Madonna, and The Black Eyed Peas.  He had a radio hit last year called “Take Over Control” and is now going hard with his newest single called “Can’t Stop Me” featuring Shermanology. He’ll be rolling through Charlotte, NC on June 13th with his  ”Jacked” American Tour.

I [Otis] got him on the phone to discuss his tour and the rumors that him and Paris Hilton were the new Hollywood couple. Nick Van De Wall a.k.a Afrojack told us how he came about the name. “Afrojack was basically an idea because I used to have an afro and Jack is like a moniker in dance music,” he said, “and I was like eh… I’ll try it!”

We talked about all the big names and who the coolest artists he’s worked with to which Afrojack said, “the coolest I’ve worked with in the studio so far… Pitbull was really fun to work with and really fast and sharp and smart. And Shakira, I’ve been in the studio with her a couple of times in the last [few] weeks.”

After finding out on Twitter that he was also doing Paris Hilton’s new album I had to get the scoop on that. Afrojack told me “I helped her out with her album and introduced her to some other producers and writers and I did 3 or 4 tracks myself.” However when we got into the rumors about them being in a relationship, he back off a little bit only saying “I don’t like couples and s*%t. She’s like one of my best friends and we just have a lot of fun touring around the world.” Riiiiight! Friend’s with benefits I’m sure! We’ll have to see if she shows up with him June 13th in Charlotte at The Fillmore!
