In the April issue of Vogue, Benny Medina, the person closest to Jennifer Lopez professionally, opens about up her inability to have ‘meaningful relationships’ and the close intimate conversations they’ve shared about her love life.

Just a year ago, Lopez and her then husband Marc Anthony admitted to irreconcilable differences and filed for divorce. Since then, the “On The Floor” singer has been spotted with a new man eighteen years her junior. Casper Smart is an acclaimed dancer who had been traveling the world with Lopez on her promotional tour for her album “L.O.V.E.” and hasn’t left her side since.

Medina had no qualms being honest with Vogue when asked about her ability to quickly jump into relationships according to RadarOnline. “The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her,” he admitted, going on to say “the ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship. And she never half does anything. When she commits to anything in her work, her life, or her relationships, she is in it.”

The same can be said for her shotgun relationship with new beau Casper Smart.  “She’s not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, ‘Damn, I’m 42 with a 24-year-old. Why?’ We talked about it yesterday,” he explains. “She was just like, ‘It’s not even the age, Benny. It’s actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed.  And I’m open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way – it’s very fertile ground!’”

Jennifer Lopez will cover Vogue for the second time in her career on the April 2012 issue hitting newsstands soon.  The last time JLo graced the cover was in 2005.
